Our philosophy as breeders:
Once we bring a litter into the world we feel responsible for them for their whole lives. We find exceptional homes for our pups and LOVE to get updates as they grow. We are a lifelong resource for our "pup-families" We will always take a puppy or dog back for any reason, at any time, so we know they will be loved and protected.
Health & Happiness!
Our goal is to raise healthy, happy, well-socialized, sound and beautiful dogs that are a joy to own. Health starts with the parents. Pre- breeding health screening includes genetic testing for inherited diseases & orthopedic x-rays, as well as considering the temperament of the parents. Once pups arrive they will see the vet within 3 days for initial exams and dewclaw removal, (and Tail docking for English Springer) Pups will have first vaccines, a dewormer protocol, with diagnostic tests from the vet, and microchip before they go home.
Raising our litters
We raise our puppies inside so they can begin to know the sights, smells, and sounds of daily life as soon as they can see and hear. We attend all of the births and monitor everyone closely as they grow! Pups receive tons of socialization at the appropriate times, with other dogs, people of all ages and walks around the farm to see other animals. We train the puppies to use grass pelleted litter trays, house training becomes easier when they're used to going to the grass! By the time they go home they will have had car rides, baths, beginning crate training, and beginning house training. They will also go to the vet one more time at 8 weeks to make sure everyone has a clear bill of health health for travel to new homes.
We make every effort to set your puppy up for success, so they will be super puppies!
New homes and choosing your puppy
Reservations for puppies can be made once a litter is confirmed by ultrasound. Deposits are $300 and the remainder is due in cash at the day of pickup. Electronic payment is possible with applicable fees. Deposits are non-refundable, but can be applied to a future litter within one year. Please ask us more about reservation procedures.
We know the personalities of the puppies really well by 6 to 7 weeks old, so we are happy to discuss your desired qualities And help make a selection. Because some homes will be choosing puppy site unseen. We ask owners not to fall in love with the first puppy they meet 🙂 I know, it's an impossible task! They are also darling! In one litter we can have various personalities and levels of bird drive etc. Make sure to let us know what you're looking for In your new family member.
Each puppy will go home with their health records, starter sample of food, toys, bedding that smells like home, And a booklet of our guidelines and helpful hints for pups. We place puppies in family and performance homes with AKC pet registration and a care contract that includes spay/neuter. Occasionally we will co-own a puppy with full registration.
All homes must have a safe fenced yard and an adequate schedule for raising a puppy. Gordon Setters and English Springer Spaniels are sporting dogs whom require an active lifestyle with plenty of DAILY exercise. They also need mental/social experiences to keep them happy. Happy healthy dogs will have minimal anxious and destructive behaviors, like barking, chewing, digging etc.
We look forward to meeting you! Please reach out to learn more. Make sure to follow our socials for current info!
Sincerely,
Andy and Emily Marshall
